Ellwood's work varies in style and subject matter, from abstracts in acrylic to detailed watercolours, his passion is wildlife. He works in oils, and has travelled extensively around the world, sketching, painting and photographing wildlife and the landscape they inhabit. From the birds of the Galapagos islands to polar bear in Churchill, and from killer whales in Norway to panda in China. "The important thing is not just to paint a realistic animal, but to capture the look & feel of the whole scene."
