John Francis

Upon leaving art college John Francis specialised in automotive illustration and worked as a freelance artist for several major motoring magazines. In 1989 he was chosen by Autocar magazine to illustrate their Hall of Fame series depicting the world’s most beautiful cars, the first of which was the ‘D’ Type Jaguar. John now runs his own graphic design company but still enjoys creating special one-off motoring illustrations. John has been commissioned by Jaguar Heritage to produce a series of superb prints that identify some of the most appealing motor cars that were produced by Jaguar. The first two images in the series are the original Jaguar E-Type (XK-E), launched at the Geneva Motorshow in 1961 and the 3 times Le Mans winning 1955 Jaguar D-Type, surely two of the most beautiful cars ever made. John’s technique, coupled with the splendid printing quality make these prints a real pleasure to own and should guarantee that they become very collectable. Each print which is lithographically printed has been individually and personally signed by Norman Dewis, (Jaguar’s chief test driver for thirty two years). and Roy Salvadori, (1950’s formula one driver who successfully raced these beautiful cars) and by John himself.
