Jurgen Gorg

Jurgen Görg began his professional career as a painter and printmaker in 1977, winning awards and critical acclaim along the way. Before long, his work was becoming popular the world over, with sell out shows in Germany, North America and Great Britain.

Gorg has said of his work "The predominant subject is the human body; it is the body of the young, slim, beautiful person. The face remains vague; the gestures are those of free motion. Everything concentrates on the body language and the erotic radiation of the figures."

A cast of lovers, dancers, musicians and masked characters are depicted in translucent layers of soft colour, shading is subtle, white highlights focus our attention. Idealised, loosely rendered figures suggest the timeless and eternal. Jürgen's paintings, prints and sculpture are much sought after.
