Jean Claude Tron - biography

picture of Jean Claude TronBorn in 1943 in Champagne sur Oise, France, Jean Claude Tron began to paint at the age of thirteen. At sixteen he started work, however his desire to paint was so strong that he continued his art studies through evening classes. Despite numerous commissions and exhibitions of his work at several prestigious galleries Jean Claude did not began to dedicat all his energies exclusively and entirely to painting until 1990. Jean Claude is passionate about the southern region of France, in particular Provence and this remains his essential source of inspiration. The sheer intensity of the colours in his palette ensure that his landscapes are aflame and he is deeply influenced by fauvist expressionism: brilliant yellow, deep azure blues, strong reds, shades of violet and just a touch of vivid green. The airy architecture of Jean Claude’s canvasses gives a sense of purity that tends to tip his limpid scenes into the unreal. His work emits an aura rooted in the depth of the tones and the vigour of the line and his use of large flat brush strokes provide movement and give rhythm. "I do not do formal landscapes that represent a particular place which then binds us. I prefer a different world , a world that radiates warmth and happiness, leaving space to dream..."
